What is meant by product development?
The word product is often associated with a physical object that can be touched, but it can also be software, a way of working, or a process.
Product development is the process of transforming an idea into a product, or improving an existing product.

- Step 1 - Concept Study
- Step 2 - Proof of Concept (PoC)
- Step 3 - Development/Prototype
- Step 4 - Testing & Validation
- Step 5 - Implementation
Step 1 - Concept Study.
Step 2 - Proof of Concept (PoC)
Now it is time to test and prove that the product is functionally feasible, and a Proof of Concept (early prototype) is developed to ensure that the product can be manufactured technically, to get an idea of whether it is economically viable, and to get a sense of the design and user experience.
This step generates a PoC for further development.
Step 3 - Development and prototype
This is the largest and most extensive step in the process. Here we develop one or more real prototypes, where the product undergoes extensive testing to evaluate, develop, and refine, for example, design, usability, manufacturing technology, economics, quality, and material selection.
After this step, there is a finished prototype to take further in the process.
Step 4 - Testing and validation
Now it is time to test the product fully. This process can often be the step that takes the longest in product development, but it is extremely important for the quality of the final product, as this is the last step in refining the product.
All tests and previous development must be evaluated, and we must ensure that the result meets all the product requirements we have set. Production technology and the manufacturing process must also be reviewed to determine whether the product is economically viable on the market.
This step usually concludes with the manufacture of a finished product.
Step 5 - Implementation
It is time to conclude the project and move forward with the product to possible production, marketing, implementation, or launch.
The final step of the process concludes with delivery of the finished product, and depending on what requirements were defined earlier, this may mean that we, for example, hand over manufacturing documentation, drawing documentation, documentation, process maps, or continue helping you with future manufacturing, sales, or product launch.
